Jeffrey G. Scholz, IADLEST
National Certified Instructor, Owner
Jeffrey G. Scholz is a retired Senior Investigator from the New York State Police with over 24 years of service and over 28 total years of experience in law enforcement. He is recognized as a Nationally Certified Instructor by IADLEST, (International Association of Directors of Law Enforcement Standards and Training).
Upon retirement, Jeff was the Senior Investigator for BCI Training at the State Police Academy, responsible for the development, facilitation, and delivery of training programs to over 1,100 NYSP Investigators in the Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI), as well as programs for over 3,000 uniformed Troopers, recruits, civilians, and outside law enforcement agencies across New York State and beyond.



Certified as a Master Instructor for Police Topics by the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services, Jeff received the distinguished 2019 New York State Police George R. Searle Award for excellence in police training. Prior to his work in training, he served in various roles, including uniformed patrol, undercover narcotics, field training, station investigations, computer crime investigations, and major crime investigations. He was also a responder to the 9/11 terrorist attacks in New York City. 886 is the shield number Jeff carried during his NYSP career.
Since 2022, through 886 Consulting, he has presented training to thousands of civilians and police officers in 17 states.
